The init Magazine, issue 8 released

The init Magazine, Issue #8, June 2010 has been released today. This issue contains articles about Map Reduce, Economics of FOSS, A review of Fedora 13 "Goddard", Open Source & Education, Collaborative documentation and management using Wiki, and a How-To on using Drupal Shell (Drush). FKK on "The Linux Terminal For Beginners"

FOSS Ka Kura added yet another number on its total with the recent one organized on 18 April, 2010. This time the topic was "The Linux Terminal For Beginners". Er. Suraj Sapkota, a pro in shell scripting and system administration with 2-3 years of experience, from Crossover Nepal was the speaker. He is one of the pioneer of FOSS in nepal and have been involved in our LTSP projects for a long time. He is also leading our Nirvikalpa project. Most of the participants were from IOE, Pulchowk Campus. But there were few from other colleges too.

Software Project Management Using RedMine Presented On FOSS Ka Kura

It was quite a while since the last FOSS Ka Kura on PostgRE SQl happened. Better late than never. Another session of FOSS Ka Kura was conducted by FOSS Nepal Community in February 6, 2010.

FOSS Nepal Community

FOSS Nepal makes it two in a row, wins best SFD event for the second consecutive year

The FOSS Nepal Community has been declared one of the three global winners for the second consecutive year in the Software Freedom Day 2008 Best Event Competition. The other winners are SFD Nicaragua and DabaweGnu. The announcement was made on the SFD website by Software Freedom International, who coordinates the SFD celebration worldwide.

Open Software Competition by D2Labs

Open Software Challenge Nepal (OSCN) is an event to recognize and award talents in the field of Open software development in Nepal. This competition plays an important role in the open source scenario in nepal presenting the tagline "FOSS for Enterprises". FOSS-Nepal Community have recently joined hands with D2 Labs to support this event.
